Flyer on how to identify illegal IPTV Services

Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) is a technology that enables the broadcasting of television content through the internet, instead of traditional methods, such as satellite or cable. The proliferation of illegal IPTV services by providers without the correct licenses has become an increasing trend in the European Union. These illegal activities can cause significant damage to rights holders and users (through loss of personal data and malware), and the profits generated can fuel other forms of organised crime, including fraud, corruption and drug trafficking.

This flyer published by Eurojust provides tips for users on how to identify illegal IPTV services. It also outlines examples of the Agency’s support in the fight against illegal IPTV services and illegal streaming. The flyer has been produced within the framework of Eurojust’s Intellectual Property Crime Project .
